CRH Ventures confirms Roads of the Future Accelerator shortlist

CRH Ventures has shortlisted eight successful startup companies following the application process for their most recent accelerator programme, Roads of the Future.

Launched in February this year, competition was fierce with over 150 applications from startups across the globe applying to help address some of the most critical challenges facing the roadbuilding, maintenance and operation ecosystem.

The eight companies shortlisted are:

Alteia - AI-powered tools for remote road network assessment, prioritising maintenance operations, and cost-efficient, precise road condition data.

Cyvl.ai - An end-to-end platform for transportation infrastructure assessment, leveraging 3D mapping sensors and AI for consistent and scalable data capture and modelling.

HDS - Advanced digital solutions for asphalt temperature monitoring and quality assurance in road construction.

Kraftblock - High-temperature energy storage tackling the challenge of volatile renewable energy and waste heat, offering a sustainable solution for industrial heating needs.

Pavewise - A web-based software solution that enhances productivity and project quality for paving contractors, facilitating communication and material delivery precision for better roadway construction.

Prezerv - Leveraging breakthrough AI to map subsurface conditions, offering 3D geospatial analytics for infrastructure owners and construction companies to ensure safety and durability.

Robotiz3d - An AI-powered service that identifies and assesses road defects with precision, reshaping road repair with technology-driven efficiency.

Verde - Innovation in asphalt technology with eco-friendly solutions that incorporate cold emulsion binders and biochar, aiming for a sustainable future in road construction.

These eight startups have now been invited to attend a Pitch Day event in Austin, Texas on June 4-5 to showcase their ideas and solutions to key stakeholders and thought leaders from across CRH and the wider roads value chain.

Eduardo Gomez, Head of CRH Ventures said: “CRH is the leader in solutions for sustainable road construction across North America and Europe and this programme offers an exceptional opportunity for startups to pilot and scale their solutions in collaboration with CRH operating companies.

“Huge congratulations to all those companies on their success so far, we cannot wait to see the impact that each will have on the future of our built world!”

The roads accelerator was aimed at companies that can demonstrate solutions to challenges within three segments of the roads ecosystem; Smart and Safe Roads, Green and Resilient Roads, and Productivity in Road Construction.

Finalists will be announced following the event in Texas, with the incentive of each then having the opportunity to pilot and scale their technologies in partnership with CRH Operating Companies.
